Usain Bolt interrupts and stops a live, televised interview when he hears the U.S. anthem play
People say a lot of things about Usain Bolt. He is, after all, the fastest man alive, earning him nicknames such as “Lightning Bolt.” People also say some not-so-nice things about him concerning his sometimes overly cocky attitude. This interviewer caught up with Bolt post race to get some insights on his performance. Mid-way through, he cuts her off for this surprising reason. This is footage that would likely have never aired!
The interview begins in standard fashion. Bolt, fresh of the track, is his usual animated self. In the middle of talking about his title, the US national anthem begins to play. In a show of true sportsmanship and respect, Bolt excuses himself and turns to face the flag.
The Olympics are a special time with nations gathering to put their best feet forward. While the games are a competition, at its core the Olympics are about coming together in a show of worldwide unity. Usain Bolt may have been the last person you’d expect to see this from (humility isn’t exactly the first word that comes to mind with him), but you have to hand it to him. He’s got some serious class.
Some things you just have to see to believe. Please SHARE this with your friends and family.
