CLEVELAND, Ohio – The celebration of the Cavs NBA Championship wouldn’t be complete without a new ending to ESPN’s 30 for 30 documentary “Believeland.”
The film originally aired on May 14, hours before Northeast Ohio native Stipe Miocic captured the UFC Heavyweight Championship. Since then, Cleveland has become a title city of sorts, capped by LeBron James and the Cavs’ win.
ESPN’s ‘Believeland’ gets new ending after Cavs win
Last week, ESPN announced it would film a new ending for “Believeland,” which focused on the struggles for Cleveland sports and its loyal fans. But don’t expect many changes in the new version.
Filmmakers were in town last week to shoot footage of the Cavs championship parade and catch up with personalities featured in the original version such as Scott Raab.
ESPN has confirmed the biggest difference will be the film’s ending, which originally focused on LeBron James’ return and the Cavs loss to the Golden State Warriors in the 2015 NBA Finals.
The new version of “Believeland,” and its ending loaded with footage from the parade, will air tonight at 8 p.m. on ESPN.
