Jordan Rodgers on Aaron Rodgers Relationship: It's ... Complicated!

What is the friggin’ deal between The Bachelorette’s suspicious frontrunner Jordan Rodgers and his famous NFL star brother Aaron Rodgers?

On a recent podcast, the former was asked exactly that …

You don’t need to read The Bachelorette spoilers to know that JoJo Fletcher has been smitten with Jordan Rodgers since night one.

Or that he’s been at the center of controversy just as long.

Jordan, the 27-year-old brother of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, has been accused of many things in recent weeks.

Namely, that he only went on the show to be the next Bachelor, that he met JoJo before the show, and that he cheated on Brittany Farrar.

Oh, and that Aaron’s girlfriend Olivia Munn hates him.

Safe to say his gossip resume is more interesting than his backup NFL QB resume. But does anyone really know this smooth operator?

Obviously, there was a lot to talk about when Jordan sat down for an interview on Katie Nolan’s Garbage Time podcast last weekend.

To his credit, the former garbage time player came to play … or at least give evasive answers that nonetheless shed light on his personal life.

Asked how close he is with Aaron, 32, The Bachelorette hesitated. “Um, we have a relationship,” he said, before adding with a grin:

“You know, it’s complicated. I’ll say that.”

Brittany Farrar, Jordan’s ex, put him on blast on Instagram after the season premiere aired, publicly questioning and dissing his character.

She just happens to be close to Olivia Munn.

Nolan went on to ask whether or not Aaron is watching the ABC guilty pleasure, and again, Jordan appeared to dodge the question.

“I’m sure everybody watches the show, so yeah,” he said. “I think so, yeah … I haven’t gotten any pointers on my kissing or my dating.”

It’s true, Jordan. Everyone loves to watch The Bachelorette online, so why would we even have to wonder if Aaron is a regular viewer.

The younger Rodgers did deny being in kahoots with Fletcher, saying “[the show] was not even on my radar” until days before filming.

“It came out of absolutely nowhere,” he said, so much so that he hadn’t seen prior seasons or even realized JoJo’s real name is Joelle.

This also serves as an implicit denial of the rumor that he’s angling to anchor the franchise next year and boost his career prospects.

As for his oft-controversial image this season?

“It was hard to be myself but even more weird than that is when it gets normal and you start to not even notice the camera,” he said.

He insists he’s genuine – as is his connection with the woman of the hour – no matter what kind of tricks the producers try to play.

“I will say that it’s hard for people to understand how real the relationship aspect can be because of what you see on TV.”

“There’s a lot of it that is production and drama that gets people watching, but I will say that the relationship aspect of it is pretty untouched.”

The relationships that develop are actually “a lot more real than they seem … no one will really understand it if you didn’t go through it.”

As always, he says all the appropriate things … but are you buying what Jordan Rodgers is selling? And will JoJo fall under his spell?
