Several stabbed at Sacramento neo-Nazi demonstration
Several people were stabbed outside the California Capitol in Sacramento Sunday during a clash between neo-Nazis and counter-protesters, officials said.
The Sacramento Fire Department called it a “mass casualty incident,” with five people taken to hospitals, some with “critical trauma stab wounds.”
An ABC10 reporter tweeted chaotic video from the scene, showing masked individuals chasing down people outside and hitting them with large sticks. Several people in the video are seen holding rainbow and pink flags.
The Traditionalist Worker Party, a white nationalist group, organized the protest for other local nationalist groups.
Matt Parrott, a spokesman for the group, said it was a “peaceful demonstration” against “leftists who are against Donald Trump supporters and other on the right.”
He said at least one member of the party was stabbed.
