Cleveland Cavaliers announce promotional schedule for 2016-17 season

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Promotions and giveaways for the 2016-17 Cleveland Cavaliers 41 scheduled home dates at Quicken Loans Arena will feature items celebrating the team’s June championship run as well as a nod to the franchise’s teams of the 1980s during the popular Hardwood Classics nights. 

Among the giveaways are T-shirts, a mini replica championship banner, a championship banner blanket and a Channing Frye bobblehead.

Fans attending opening night on Oct. 25 will receive a schedule magnet, a T-shirt and a light-up bracelet that will be worn as part of the team’s first ring ceremony and banner raising.

Popular theme nights returning to The Q throughout the season include Hoops for Troops in November, Chinese New Year in January, Black Heritage Celebrations in February and Los Cavs Noche Latina in March.

The team will also host six Hardwood Classics nights, harkening back to the franchise’s Richfield Coliseum teams of the 1980s. The Cavaliers will unveil their special Hardwood Classics uniforms for those games at a later date.

Fans will also have the chance to shoot postgame free throws on the court following one select home game per month during the season.
