Kim Kardashian on Taylor Swift: Let"s All Move On!
Has there ever, in the history of all celebrity gossip, been anything as juicy as Kim Kardashian’s Snapchat videos calling out Taylor Swift?
Well, probably, but still, you know you’re getting giddy at the prospect of talking about it again.
The whole thing started at the beginning of this year when Kanye West released a new song of his called “Famous.” One particularly memorable line went like this:
I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why, I made that bitch famous
Oh snap, right? Even after all these months, that line still hits hard.
Taylor then had one of her people give a statement, stating that Kanye called Taylor to ask her to post the song on her Twitter account.
According to the source, “she declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message.”
It was all pretty shady, but then Kim, in those darling Snapchats, revealed that Taylor was fibbing.
In the recording, Kanye let Taylor listen to the line and she said that it was “like a compliment.” It really wasn’t, but hey, we’ll let Taylor make her own calls.
The recording proved that Kanye did check with Taylor to make sure the line was acceptable to her, but there may have been more to it than that.
In a later Instagram statement, Taylor said that her issue was with Kanye referring to her as “that bitch,” something that he never ran by her before the song was released.
We’re not sure why Taylor thought the line about her having sex with Kanye was OK but “that bitch” was what crossed the line, but again, Taylor can feel whatever feelings she wants to feel.
Anyway, after Kim released the recording of Kanye’s talk with Taylor, pretty much everyone took her side — Taylor was a liar, Kim is the teller of all truths, etc.
Kim rubbed the victory in for a little bit, posting some sassy videos on Instagram. But now, it seems, she’s totally done with Taylor.
In a new interview with Billboard, Kim was asked about the Taylor situation, and she said “Ugh, do we really have to talk about Taylor Swift?”
Kim, girl, you’ve been in this business long enough. You know you do.
“I’m so over it,” she said. “If it were up to Kanye, it all would probably have never come out. He can handle it, he has no hard feelings.”
“He doesn’t even really care. I just wanted to protect my husband. I saw him getting a lot of sh-t.”
She continued by saying that “it wasn’t even about a look or anything, or to have this feud — it was like, ‘OK, here’s the truth.’ Done. Let’s all move on.”
“I feel like I don’t want to talk about her anymore.”
Even Kris Jenner had some shade to throw, telling the magazine:
“She’s a protective wife and mom. Today’s social media-filled world can be so toxic. People angry and unhappy and lashing out.”
“My kids weren’t brought up that way.”
It’s pretty wise, though, for Kim to be done with Taylor. She clearly won the battle when she posted the Snapchat vid, but for her and Kanye to keep going on and on and on some more about Taylor?
It’s just starting to look desperate.
