EastEnders’ Steve McFadden shockingly SNUBBED by this year’s British Soap Awards

He was widely praised for his performance following the death of Peggy Mitchell, earlier this month but Steve McFadden – Phil Mitchell in EastEnders – is absent from the Best Actor shortlist for this year’s British Soap Awards.Instead, his Walford co-star Danny Dyer will compete against Coronation Street’s Jack P Shepherd.

The 38 year old is yet to win a BSA gong, despite being honoured with a variety of other awards for his role as Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter.

Corrie’s Jack has won plaudits for his portrayal of troubled resident David Platt.

The two actors are up against Emmerdale’s Danny Miller (Aaron Livesy) and Hollyoaks duo Charlie Clapham (Freddie Roscoe) and Kieron Richardson (Ste Hay).
