Carol Vorderman SLAMS Top Gear saying she’s ‘looking forward to watch the proper boys’

The former Countdown star was scathing with her review

The new Top Gear series was met with a wall of consternation on social media as fans of the BBC motoring show took to Twitter to share their anger and disappointment.

Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans looked to bring the same kind of energy to the show that he has when presenting TFI Friday but it seemed that his party fell flat as he was called out for being a bad Clarkson impersonator.

Whilst viewers at home picked apart what they were seeing, there was more telling shade thrown on the show by celebrities that joined in the slating.

Carol Vorderman was among the most vocal on Twitter as she took Chris to task for his seeming obsession with shouting his links.

Could CHRIS EVANS SPEAK UP A LITTLE COS HE ISN’T SHOUTING ENOUGH X #TopGearNothttps://t.co/UNLdzitetK

Her overall assessment of the show was just as cutting as she concluded that she can’t wait to ‘watch the proper boys’ on Amazon Prime, when Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May’s show will be broadcast.

Sorry #TopGear … switching off … looking forward to the proper boys on @amazonprimenow soon … night all xxx

She was not alone among celebs that thought the new Top Gear series was not hitting the right notes. ITV news reader Alastair Stewart was equally as critical, especially of Chris Evans attempt to keep it in the mould of Clarkson.

#TopGear: ‘jokes, an attempt at Clarkson-lite humour, felt as forced as the gear shift in a poor rental car’. #Ouch https://t.co/d6HPRzzMJ8

Of course, there is always a dark cloud on the horizon that can rain on the parade. If you were one of the many that looked to put the boot in to the show, be warned… you are sharing the same opinion with controversial media ‘pundit’ Katie Hopkins, who also declared her distaste at what Top Gear has become…

I hate cars. But loved Top Gear. Now I can safely say I hate both #TopGear
