Bear Grylls" Mission Survive "AXED amid falling ratings": Gruelling TV show won"t be commissioned again
Bear Grylls ‘ Mission Survive TV show has been axed following plummeting ratings, it has been claimed.
The gruelling show saw celebrities including Emilia Fox and Mike Tindall face shocking outdoor challenges across a 12 day period, but ITV have now confirmed it won’t be commissioned for another series.
According to The Sun , the decision was made after the final – which aired in March – pulled in just 2.2million viewers.
“Mission Survive did what ITV expected to at first – it got everyone talking and there was a real buzz around the series,” a source claimed to the newspaper.

They added: “But the second group of celebrities didn’t get people quite as excited, and that showed in the ratings which were much lower.”
An ITV spokesperson confirmed to the publication: “We had two exciting series of Mission Survive but the commissioning team continues to refresh the channels entertainment portfolio and so we have taken the decision not to commission a further series.”

The second series of the gruelling survival show saw the adventurer travel to the wilds of Southern Africa to set terrifying tasks for the celebrities.

“I was so surprised I got that far, let alone go on and win the show, that just actually blew my mind,” she told the Radio Times at the time.
