Six hurt in Houston shopping centre shooting

At least six people have been injured after a shooting at a shopping centre in Houston.

Officers shot the alleged gunman dead following the attack in the south west of the Texan city.

Police said the scene was still active as a bomb squad was searching a vehicle believed to be owned by him.

They also said there were no reports of other suspects “at this time”.

People took cover as the gunman opened fire in the Weslayan area.

A fire official said some were shot while inside their cars.

Several people were hit with glass fragments from shattered car windows.

The incident comes just days after a shooting a shopping centre in Washington state left five people dead.

And on 17 September, a 20-year-old man stabbed 10 people at a Minnesota mall before being shot dead by an off-duty police officer.

That attack was claimed by Islamic State.
