Her win means Eurovision is heading for Ukraine
The 62nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Ukraine next spring – a venue is yet to be announced – with the final currently set for May 20.
It is expected that semi finals will be held on the 16 and 17th, with the preliminary dates set by the European Broadcasting Union and announced in March.
However, the host’s broadcaster still has the option to change the dates, if the EBU Reference Group agrees to their proposals.

The country – represented by Jamala – thundered to victory with 534 points after coming second in the public vote .
Jamala won for her political song 1944 and pleaded for “peace and love” as she collected her trophy.
They narrowly beat Australia who came second with 511 points after only their second attempt with singer Dami Im and her song Sound of Silence.

Born in Osh in the former Soviet Union, which is now located in Kyrgystan, Jamala was given the name Susanna Jamalaadinova.
Her family lived in the area after Stalin forced her great-grandparents to move from Crimea, something that heavily influenced her song 1944.
