Woman turns down arranged marriage because she refused to give up her dog
We all love our dogs, and most of us couldn’t imagine our lives without them. Some of us to such a point that we are willing to go to desperate measures to prevent any possible separation from our furry little companions. This was certainly true for Karishma Walia, who quite literally called off her marriage in order to keep her dog, Lucy.

Walia, who lives in New Dehli and was set up in an arranged marriage, defiantly told her future husband that there was no way she would ever give up on her adorable pup.
“Are you serious? My god,” he exasperated.

Walia posted her whole conversation with him online, and garnered support from hundreds of dog owners who encouraged her not to give up on Lucy, and to find a man that would be more supportive of her lifestyle.
Her family, however, is a completely story.
Her family, in particular her mother, also tried to change her mind, telling her that she should reconsider, considering how good looking and well off her groom was.
But Karishma was having none of it. He refused to come back to him. Even when he tried to get her back one more time.

He told her to reconsider, telling her that her obsession with her dog could be a “temporary phase.” He couldn’t wrap him mind around the fact that her dog was such a priority in her life.
Said Walia, “Having a dog is not a temporary phase,” and there is no way she would abandon her dog for anyone, not even her future husband.
