Special needs horse is very appreciative of his loving owners, licks his ear while he fixes his hoof
There are many ways to show your appreciation. Sometimes a good ear licking gets the message straight across. Heres a hilarious video of Jack, a horse, showing his appreciation by licking his caretaker’s ear.
What makes Jack’s video even more special is the story behind Jack’s life. Jack was born on Project Stable, an equestrian and farm program that works with special-needs children and provides agricultural education to the general public. When Jack was born, he appeared normal, but his nose was not right. He was born with a condition called Wry Mouth (Upper jaw and nose deviates to one side).
After doing research, the vet’s opinion was to put Jack down since he was disfigured and would not be able to feed himself. Jack’s caretakers thought differently though…
They contacted the University of Florida and were able to fix Jack’s dilemma. Thanks to donations, Jack was able to receive the operation he so desperately needed. Although the surgery was successful, one of the side effects was a heart condition. In order to maintain Jack’s health, he required special care, medication and also a heart monitor.
Despite all of the extra work, everyone at Project Stables loves Jack, and is willing to do anything to keep him happy and healthy. It is apparent that Jack also loves his caretakers because if you watch the video, he shows his appreciation in every way possible (including ear licks).
An adorable sight to see. You can find the video below.
